Management Profiles

Mark Nicholson: President of The Nicholson Company.  Mark received both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Santa Clara. Mark has over twenty years of experience in the high tech industry, with six years as President/CEO of Escort Memory Systems.  Mark has spent the last five years with The Nicholson Company, where he has worked his way up from Project Manager to his current position as President.

Bruce Nicholson: Co-Founder and Principal
Bruce brings extensive experience in business management, planning, design and construction management to clients of all sizes. Prior to co-founding the Nicholson Company, Bruce managed the Northern California division of Ray Wilson Company which specialized in industrial and commercial general construction with an annual volume of approximately $20,000,000 in Santa Clara, CA. In July of 1981, Ray Wilson Company became a subsidiary of Amerad Betong Vagforbattringer (ABV) of Stockholm, Sweden. At that time, ABV had an annual volume in excess of $1 billion. Bruce holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon.

John Nicholson: Co-Founder and Principal
Prior to co-founding the Nicholson Company, John began his career in construction management and land development. He is a member if the American Society of Civil Engineers, is a licensed broker and general contractor, and holds a masters degree in Business Administration from the Claremont Graduate School and a BS from Santa Clara University in Civil Engineering.

Bob Dwyer:  VP, Development
Bob Dwyer has been a licensed California real estate broker and general contractor for over 30 years. Bob began his career as an estimator and project manager in the general construction field with Morris Daley, Inc. in Burlingame, CA. In 1981, he joined Grubb & Ellis, specializing in sales and leasing of commercial real estate. Bob joined The Nicholson Company in 1999 as a partner. Since that time, Bob and his partners developed eleven buildings, totaling 230,000 square feet. Bob brings value to every project with his ability to recognize a project's inherent value as a potential real estate deal. His ability to take projects from inception to completion enables his clients to spend their time focusing on other business.  He is also an expert in lease contracts and has established an extensive professional network throughout his career, which enhances his value to our clients immensely.   Bob holds a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mark Brannan:  VP, Construction Management
Mark has 29 years experience in the industry, with 19 of those years being dedicated to The Nicholson Company's construction efforts. Prior to his years with the company, Mark owned and operated his own general contracting firm. Mark brings extensive talent and expertise to every project by providing hands-on input and coordination for all major project activities, including design review, project scheduling and field operations.

Willie Koolstra:  Director, Property Management
Willie brings over 30 years of commercial/industrial real estate experience to The Nicholson Company. Prior to joining our company, Willie partnered with Sieben Associates, A Silicon Valley real estate brokerage firm specializing in sales and development of commercial and industrial real estate.  One of his major strengths is in leasing which includes all aspects, such as negotiating rents, tenant improvement allowances, drawing up documents, working with local government agencies, and negotiating and scheduling with contractors.  In summary, his knowledge and experience in resale of industrial property, sales and development of raw land, and property management enables Willie to successfully handle a variety of real estate situations with ease.  In 1997, Willie joined the Nicholson Company to work with our team in directing all property management efforts.
